The National Institute for Child and Family Development (NICFD), Mahidol University, in collaboration with EGE Creatives, LLC, USA, organized the conference “Safety Manager EP.22: Trauma-Informed Early Childhood Intervention – Family Systems and Parent Engagement” on January 7, 2026. The event was conducted online via Zoom Meeting in parallel with an on-site session at the Institute. It was attended by the Institute’s executives and faculty members, as well as participants from various organizations in Thailand and overseas.
The event was honored by Chatchai Imarom, M.D., Deputy Director for International Relations, who delivered the opening remarks and welcomed all participants. He emphasized the importance of international collaboration and the continuous advancement of knowledge in the field of child and family protection.
The conference featured a keynote lecture by Ms. Ekeoma G. Ekeleme, MSp.Ed, M.S., Founder and Lead Consultant of EGE Creatives, LLC, USA. She shared her expertise on the impact of violence on child development, the core principles of Trauma-Informed Care, systems-based approaches at the family level, and practical strategies applicable to professional practice.
In addition, a presentation entitled “Development of an Integrated Healthcare System for Children with Adverse Childhood Experiences in the Community” was delivered by Ms. Kanitphon Uthumphon, Research Fellow and Master’s student of the Institute. The presentation highlighted key concepts and future directions for developing an integrated healthcare system to support children with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) at the community level.
The conference was conducted in a warm and engaging atmosphere. Executives, faculty members, and participants from diverse professional backgrounds actively exchanged perspectives, raised questions, and engaged in in-depth discussions. This reflected the growing recognition of the importance of integrating Trauma-Informed approaches into child and family practice to build safe, compassionate, and sustainable systems of care.
