Raising awareness about the causes, signs and solutions to stress
International Stress Awareness Day was established in 1998 by the International Stress Management Association to raise awareness of the causes, symptoms, and treatments of stress.
• Feeling overwhelmed is a source of anxiety. Unmanaged stress can become chronic.
• These demands may be related to the workplace, interpersonal relationships, finances, or anything else.
What are common signs of stress?
• Stress can have an impact on mood and behavior. A stressed person may always be angry or depressed. They might feel uninspired or unappreciated. Oversleepers can’t fall asleep or oversleep. They may experience racing thoughts or be constantly anxious. Lack of concentration is a symptom of stress. They are indecisive or make poor decisions.
How can International Stress Awareness Day be observed?
• Time: reserve time for time management, relaxation, and pursuit of hobbies.
• Managing priorities: compile a daily to-do list and prioritize urgent tasks.
• Breathing and relaxation: reduce the heart rate and promote relaxation.
• Talking: Sharing feelings and concerns with family, friends, and coworkers can help reduce feelings of isolation. Others may provide surprising and viable choices for stress relief.
