On 28th September 2020, at the Emerald Hotel, Bangkok, the Senate Committee on Labor and the Senate Committee on Sports organized the seminar on “The Rules of Muay Thai for the Safety of Children” with Admiral Panlop Tamisanon, Vice Chairman of the Commission welcomed the delegation and gave an opening address and General Varah Boonyasit, Vice Chairman of the Subcommittee on Labor Protection and Welfare gave a reported speech. Moreover, there are representatives from the government and private sectors who work related to the child, youth and sports joined as honorable guests.
The aims of this seminar are to listen to the opinion of the stakeholders, government, the organization who are working for child protection, and people who are involved in Muay Thai in order to know the information on the facts of boxing in all aspects and bring it to compile and preparing for policy recommendations. Moreover, this seminar will consider the way of protection and prevention of the harmful in case of child boxing and bring it to the way of problems improving in the future.
For this seminar, there are special performance shows such as Wai Khru and Kita Muay Thai. In addition, there is the debate on “The Rules of Muay Thai for the Safety of Children” by the representatives of the Sports Authority of Thailand such as Wing Commander Vichairachanon Khadpo, head of Rachanon Boxing Muay Thai Training Camp, Police Colonel Korawad Hanpradit, Chief Adviser of Bang Phli Rung Rueang Sports Station Samut Prakan Province, Associate Professor Adisak Plitponkarnpim, M.D., Director of the National Institute for Child and Family Development and Director of Child Safety Promotion and Injury Prevention Research Center, the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Associate Professor Dr. Paiboon Srichaisawat, Sub-committee on Professional Sports and Sports Industry and so on.
